Only God Knew

Only God knew
This was going to happen to me and you-
Yet He gave me no warning at all.
Only God saw me holding you tight
And heard me thank Him for you each night
Yet, I'm no longer standing as tall.
God could see
How you were going to hurt me
Yet He never told me how or why.
God can hear,
Me and my tears,
Every night as I cry.
God knows
That my pain shows
Through out everyday
God sees
That I don't want us to be
Like this for always
God has watched me—
Smile for you,
Care for you,
And cry for you—
But now He must watch me die for you, too.
