Butterfly Wings

by SuicideQueen   Jul 5, 2007

Slave to My Own Creation,

Master to Nothing but My Heart,

But These Butterfly Wings Are Tearing It Apart,

Such a Beautiful Thing,

Masquerading with such pure detestation,

So I conceal my true eternal feelings,

Behind these beautiful, fragile,

Butterfly wings,

Which flutter away absent,

With my heart concealed,

I can not pursue it nor track it,

So I gaze as such a beautiful creation,

Which I have completed,

Turns into such darkness,

My heart, now dead,

Carried away by pure beauty,

And for a mere second,

I can feel my once affectionate heart,

Flying away on delicate innocence,

To the dark where it shall once and for all

Be torn apart,

And I shall love No More.

It is hard to read this poem, you could write this piece in stanzas then it will be easier to read. Anyway this is great poem, atmosphere is incredible and some lines are very powerful. You described emotions excellently and every line is touching. It deserves 5/5

I think this is one of the best I've read. The elegant choice of words and deepness of each line. Soul captivating and very intimidating.

    Flying away on delicate innocence,

To the dark where it shall once and for all

    Be torn apart,

And I shall love No More.

I liked this part very much.
