Just to Say I Love You

by Becca   Jul 5, 2007

Cell phone rings
I jump at the sound
I hesitate to answer
My head is spinning around
Who could it be
Could it be you
I pull my hand back
What should I do
I'm afraid to hear your voice
But I know it'll soothe me
It will change who I am
And who I am to be
What will I say to you
I don't want to say thie wrong thing
Maybe if I could get the courage
For you I would sing
I've waited so long
For you to give me a call
I've really missed you
This isn't easy at all
Should I say "hello"
Although "hi" is more casual
"Hey" seems friendlier
But right now I'm too bashful
I press "talk" on the phone
And put it slowly to my ear
Your sweet voice and
Soft music is what I hear
My heart is racing now
As a million statements run through my mind
One statement stands out from the rest
And the other are left behind
I take a deep breath
And say, "I love you"
Everything seems to cease at that moment
As you reply, "I love you too, boo."
