The end ( true story)

by Tracy D Rollings   Jul 5, 2007

I'll been through hell and back again
thought I was well, depression set in
then fell in love, went to deep
started to drink, but couldn't sleep.

My job got harder, friends all left
had to face the world, all by myself
with a weak mind and broken heart
she commenced to tear my life apart.

Drinking got worse, as days went by
she'd break my heart, to hear me cry
my nerves were shot ,couldn't take anymore
pulled a gun, now laying in the floor.

Thought it was over, what a surprise
found myself alone, when I opened my eyes
twenty one days, in intensive care
woke up to a world filled with fear.

But it's all behind me now
as I always try to look ahead
remembering what happened that night
when the doctor almost pronounced me dead.

I've learned a lot, from all my mistakes
can make life work, know what it takes
will promise you now, never do it again
next time, just might be the end.©2007 Tracydr42

Well you never cease to shock and amaze me. Hell and back again indeed.
I truely belive you were given a second chance for a reason and that you are now doing this positively!
Does cause a lot of pain inside to read it but i am glad you got through these days and they are in the past. Take care.

Every second chance is valuable and meaningful...
Very sad piece, full of emotions, but still beautifully written. You can express yourself through your poetry superbly.
    Great job, once again 5/5

In life, we must seize the second chances. Making mistakes is a part of life, where we end up down the track, what we amount to is because of what we choose to do. Great poem. 5/5
    All the best.
