Shadows

by Robin   Jul 5, 2007

I wanted this.
I keep telling myself that.
I wanted to be part of something,
That, for once, wasn't pointless.
To me it was true.
But maybe,
Once one of us saw something as old,
as hopeless,
as used,
It became that which you saw.
But to me, it was still real.
As real as the flavor of our kisses,
More beautiful than I could ever have imagined,
All I wanted was to feel the sky
All I wanted was to be up there, to fly.
A glimpse of true happiness,
Was all I was asking for.
But to you,
Those kisses,
Those sweet, sweet kisses
They were just whispers riding on the wind.
And us,
to you, we were only shadows.

OOo i like this poem..i think ill read some others of yours too...

the poem was in the lost relationship because its kind of like the girls dream and she wants the guy and decided to go for him...its from the perspective of her pride hence the "he better be worth it" part. Since relationships cant last on pride...ever...((at least thats what i learned)) the relationships destined to be lost...soo thats why

ya i have a lot of hidden meanings lol
