He's my kinda rain

He's my kinda rain

I just can't make up my mind,
But I think it actually matters this time.
And though I try not to let perceptions get in the way-
People's expectations are all I'm living for.

This once, let's go out in the rain,
It's so nice to let inhibitions go,
(Not that you'd know.)
Oh darling, I won't have you again,
Let alone save you.

This ink spills quicker than my tears,
And quicker than you ever managed to say "I love you"
Something tells me that's indicative.

Put your hand on my far too skinny ribs,
And feel the glow of what you missed,
Yes, I suppose you can still beat to my rhythm,
Let me warn you- you'll be out of time.

You were my kinda rain,
I guess that you still are.
I'd love for you to be back- but we both know it went too far.
I'll let you breathe with me,
Just breathe easy.

And your breath is my kinda rain.

But I'm not going there again...
