Tear Stained Pillow.

by ABake   Jul 6, 2007

This morning she woke up to find a tear stained pillow.
Looked in the mirror to see red and swollen eyes.
Everyone slept peacefully last night,
And didn't pay attention to her cries.

This is the story of her life.
It consists of the same routine each day.
Put on a fake smile,
And make-up takes the redness away.

No one knows the pain,
That lies deep within.
Absolutely nothing will make her happy.
For happiness you can not win.

You can try, but her you will never please.
No matter how much of your attention you give.
She won't be satisfied.
She still won't want to live.

Parents who love her, friends who for her would die.
She has no real reason to be so unhappy.
But yet, to be happy she won't even try.

I'd like to say this girl is my best friend,
Or even a family member.
But sadly in the end,
This unhappy girl is I.

Ehhh! Brilliant. I loved the ending, I was thinking of it middle of the poem, if it was yourself you are writing about, and you were. I can relate to this, so it just touched me. It flowed really good and easy to read, so the reader gets your message.
5/5 Amazing work on this one.

This poem is very well written if that alone could describe it. It's filled with emotion and feeling, perhaps one of the best poems I've read.
    Keep up the good work.
