The Statue

by Hannah Emellia   Jul 6, 2007

A stranger walking all alone,
A face so perfect, carved from stone,
He stares ahead, a lonely journey
To us; the blackness of eternity.

We come to watch another's folly,
His features forever melancholy,
When twilight overcomes us all,
We leave the stranger to his fall.

Though he walks forever on,
We'll find him there when breaks the dawn,
And his destination we'll always perceive,
The stranger; the wonderer who never leaves.

Wow, deep poem. I like the subject and you wrote this one incredibly. Imagery is great, atmosphere is also excellent.
    Well done 5/5
