Crash & Burn

by Niki   Jul 6, 2007

How true are you really?
The lies,
The hurt,
The confusion,
The feeling of being separated.

It was all well and good,
But then there came the backstabbing,
And the rejection also ignorance,
You thought so much of yourself,
So high and mighty,
And left the ones who really care,
In the smoky dust.

I stick by the ones,
Who will stick by me,
But that is a thousand miles from you.
Free spirit,
Free as the wind,
Free to roam and leave hearts broken,
Like me.

Frustrations and anger,
bottled up,
Now our friendship is falling apart,
Like a trampled rose,
Beautiful at first,
Then wrestled down to which it was,
Just a helpless and hopeless seed,
Begging for mercy and realizing its greed.

I thought it was solid,
A standing foundation,
But really a false accusation,
Of perfection and cherishing.
I don't fathom,
Your ever changing heart,
And its need to perish,
Anything that is with beauty,
Because it gathers every ounce of independence,
And hasn't yet felt the great bonds of friendship.

My pride crashes and burns,
From your whirlwind of uncertainty,
You are off to build another friendship,
And let your instability wreck it,
And the same song will cry out,
From the never ending pain that dwells in your heart,
And causes you to break hearts,
One day you will learn,
There is no joy whatsoever,
In someone who crashes their heart in a powerful collision,
And lights the fuse of your wondering heart,
Making it burn.
