Message in a Bottle

by Corinne   Jul 6, 2007

Do you remember when we
Strode the beach at sunset?
Our sandy, squishing toes
Left watery footprints
On the starfish strewn shore

We watched the orb's
Slow rosy descent
A dying strip of color on the horizon
Giving way to sister moon's luminous
Dance across the sky

You thought the scene
Would make a wonderful painting
I said a novel's worth of words
Could never convey
The meaning of what we beheld

We decided to let it go
And allowed the moment to envelope us
Let others concern themselves
With such lofty matters

This left a smile on my face....and makes me remember all the hours I've spent on beaches watching the sun set...

As I am standing on the shores of Georgia this weekend, I will be thinking of this as I look at the ocean bottomed horizon. Very nice! I won't have a care in the world, with my girl right beside me we will create our own painting in a memory of our scene. :)

    I love it!

This is breathtaking, Corinne. Such a beautiful memory you painted, the imagery was exquisite.

    "You thought the scene
    Would make a wonderful painting
I said a novels worth of words
    Could never convey
The meaning of what we beheld"
    ^^^I adore this stanza.
And the close was as usual, perfect... Great job! ;o)
