It Was You

by Andrew Morton   Jul 6, 2007

Though i cry a river for you
you build a bridge for me to walk on
though im sinking into something black
to give me something to lean on

it may seem that i have lost my touch
but you give something to hang on to
though there may be obsticles ahead
you give me strength to break through

i breathe in, i breathe out
as a part of my soul shouts

im slowly breaking apart
quickly falling to pieces
you pick them up one by one
give me something to believe

the taste of sweet heaven
that runs down my throat
just seems like a reminder
of my escape goat

should i thank you
should i want to
should i thank you
should i need to

theres some substance
to the empty life i live
for once theres meaning
in the love that i give

i know you that you see
where i am and where i want to be
i know that you believe
in everything i want to be

the meaning of life rounds in circles
in this empty head of mine
through everything ive ever lost
i remember what i did find
