Stop The Sunrise

by Brittany   Jul 6, 2007

If I could stop the sunrise,
And make this last forever,
Then I would pull you closer,
As we lie here together.

If I could save the darkness,
And keep away the light,
You wouldn't have to leave me,
Upon the death of night.

If I could stop the sunrise,
For just a little while,
Then I would kiss your forehead,
And memorize your smile.

I'd reach into the heavens,
To capture you a star,
And with it, paint a picture,
Of everything you are.

If I could stop the sunrise,
And keep the dawn at bay,
We wouldn't have to worry,
About them taking you away.

But time will not allow it.
It will never let us be.
The angels simply shake their heads,
When they see you and me.

So when the moon grows weary,
Pray that it won't close it's eyes.
I'd stay with you forever,
If the sun would cease to rise.
