Midnight Walk

by Erica   Jul 7, 2007

Lost outside in midnight rain
Still trying to get home
Smells of wet grass and cement
So empty and alone

Headlights glow from passing cars
Hum with their faint engines
Leaving me far behind them
With no good intentions

Doesn't anyone hear me?
I'm screaming, scared and cold
Wish I was asleep at home
With bedtime stories told

Only street lamps to guide me
Flickering yellow light
Even that feels comforting
When out so late at night

Nobodys looking for me
I'm not to far away
Just dead outside my window
Body in the driveway
