When the world is over...

by Rey Severs   Jul 7, 2007

When the world is over,
and I am knocking on deaths door,
Will it be because I saved someone,
took a bullet, and fell to the floor?

When the world is over,
Will there be a heavens gate?
Or will I be sent to hell,
Seduced by the devils bait.

When the world is over,
will they still hear my cries?
Suffering and burning,
In the fiery enterprise..

When the world is over,
Will the children still be crying?
Will they be fierce and noble,
or will the innocent still be dieing?

When the world is over,
Will this fate go away?
Or will it be here lingering still,
causing this dismay?

When the world is over,
Will people still remember me?
When it is all over,
Will they hear my sacred plea?

When this world is over,
Will everyone be this way,
I need to solve this problem,
Before it kills us all one day.

Wow, this piece is truly powerful. Excellently written dark poem.
    My favorite stanza is:
    -
    When the world is over,
Will the children still be crying?
Will they be fierce and noble,
or will the innocent still be dieing?-
    Well done, 5/5 from me
