Venomous poison succeeds

by my name is Llama   Jul 7, 2007

This venomous poison begging her to succumb.
Malicious and deadly toxin eradicating what's left,
Of her soul and will her hope and courage.
Twisting torture and contorting her mind,
An intense rush of emptiness runs through her veins.
Distorting her surroundings, nothing to hold on to,
Grasping at a chance to break free,
To interpret her thoughts like hieroglyphics on a tomb.
Strange, unfamiliar and unwilling to be tamed,
Her heart mangled, beyond repair.
It is now too far along this dissolute road,
Unrestrained by convention or morality.
The multiple pathways have merged into but one.
This disease as explosive as dynamite,
Desensitizes what's left of normality.
So she lets a tear escape the jail of her eyes,
In the desire for the dreams she beholds.
Only to be left broken, curled on the floor

This poem is fantastic in so many ways, the message it shares is truly remarkable. I had a bit of a hard time finding the flow at first but I read it a second time and it went along much better. Sometimes too many large words can ruin a poem but I think this one is perfect. Great job 5/5 GG23
