Lily- Happy Birthday

by swill   Jul 7, 2007

Unicorns slowed in marigolds
soothsayers gazed at crescent fold
dames flushed dun at sight of gold
opening her eye, sixteen bells tolled

little lily bloomed...

in mermaid's poise and maiden's stance
plucky little legs learnt how to dance
though few could see her sprightly prance
in wonderment they eyed entranced

little lily grew...

the enchanted saw a new frontier
her touch was like a healing prayer
beautifying her precious dear
and zephyrs of joy fluttered her

little lily loved...

dealt the same ill-omened cards
but her spirit wins against her stars
she's still the beacon in the dark
still the song in the boulevard

lady lily sings...
