But in the end, I purely gained.
I was scared right from the start,
But something about you calmed my heart.
Everything you touched, and everything you did,
Made me feel comforted, even from where I hid.
You took the time to hold my hand,
And took the time to help me stand.
No one understood me quite like you,
And at first I was terribly confused.
The way I felt, from inside your embrace,
Made me feel delicate, like a strip of lace.
I knew I would crumble if you let go,
You whispered to me, and said I should know,
That you loved me now, and would forever so.
Love, they said, could only end with pain,
