While You're Away

by zoe stephens   Jul 7, 2007

Half the bed is empty,
the warmth has now gone cold.
Though I know we shall be together
until we both grow old.
But while you are away from me,
the clock inside me stops.
The sands of time stop running,
only tear drops
drops
drops
drops.
Crash!
Like glass, they break
on the shelf on which I sit
awaiting your safe return.
