Daddy Please Stop

by Taylor Loves Fishes   Jul 7, 2007

On that one day you had to go to the doctor
"Nothing Major" you said just a check up
you come back and say they just ran a couple tests no big deal
It was a big deal
When the tests came in we got that bad news
you had cancer
Although it's not as bad as it can get
cancer is a scary word
a scary thing
Dad, i love you so dearly and i wish this didn't happen to you
But you said you're ready to fight it and that's what your doing
You had lots of operations and tests
the cancer is going away
But now you started smoking again!
You still have prostate cancer do you want lung cancer too?
When ever i see your stupid cigars
i look into your eyes and mine start tearing
Why?
Why would you smoke?
especially if you have cancer
Dad, don't you get it
Every time you place that giant brown cigar in you mouth
it feels like my heart is getting stabbed
I wonder if that is more dangerous than the cancer
When i tell you to stop you yell and ground me
But you don't realize that every time you put that thing to your mouth you hurt everyone that loves you
Because we're already fearful of losing you,
don't give us another reason
Daddy please stop,
stop for your youngest daughter
Daddy please stop,
I love you
