This part of our story
on both sides end in tears
brilliant lights are shining
a million sparks are flying
a simple flame is on
a blazing fire undying
torn up hearts are shredding
cutting deeper with every word
anxiety is building
with things I've never heard
trying to make the other understand
countering every claim
throwing anger back and forth
it only ends in pain
we settle our opinions
we think this is the end
but a couple weeks later
it all begins again
everything is repeated
our endless cycle of dis-trust
some how this is different
everything turns to dust
you hold me close and say
we have nothing left to fear
so i wipe my tears away
and ask where do we go from here?
we know we were wrong
but it turns out we were right
our fire is burning out
as it all ends tonight
