No one cares

by Tracy D Rollings   Jul 8, 2007

It was a cold winter morning
snow had covered the ground
wood needed to be brought in
there was none to be found.

The house was getting very cold
no fire had been made yet
I didn't hurry with the wood
be a beating I'd never forget.

Trumping through all the heavy snow
nothing but white could be seen
was scared to tell them that
I knew he would get mean.

Hours had passed was very cold
lost all the feelings in my feet
but I had to find wood
or else no one could eat.

The temperature was starting to drop
and snow was coming down fast
had to make it back home
I knew my body wouldn't last.

As I went into the house
he was headed to the door
didn't get to say a word
he knocked me to the floor.

Hit my head against the wall
and it was bleeding pretty bad
said I'd better get the wood
or I would make him mad.

Good thing that it was cold
it helped stop my bleeding head
I was looking for the wood
and wishing that I was dead.

Sad for a child to wish
he should be living his dreams
cast into the world of hate
where no one cares it seems.©2007 Tracydr42

    Dear Tracy,
I just don't know what to say. To read this stuff and to know that you went through this, that is really terrible. This man must have been evil to do such things to you. I feel really sorry. That's so sad.

This piece has greatly created imagery, and it is filled with emotions. It has so touching sadness within the lines. Every word is perfectly picked.
You always excellently transfer your emotions to the readers of your poetry.
    5/5 from me
