Friendship's tapestry

by Georgi   Jul 8, 2007

Let your eyes wander openly, linger on her face,
Let them see an image of an open, loved embrace;
Two hands folded carefully, cradled side by side,
As the silk and wool and cotton for our lifetime, she provides.

Steadied right in front of her; a wooden weaving board,
Which slowly she began to move her frail hands towards,
Coupled with a needle and a thread of golden twine,
She started to create your life - a perfect, pure design.

Serenity and helplessness, happiness and pain,
Emotions, thoughts and heroines the tapestry contained.
Your every waking moment, your every sleeping vow,
Everything you've wished and hoped the tapestry allowed.

Your happiness is bright, bold colours, bumps and bends,
Weaved with careful fingers - mental thought transcends.
Your pain is grey and beautiful, hesitant and lost,
Your tears are stained beside it and the needle weaves across.

She'll sew it while you're sleeping, and when you're wide awake,
She sews them all throughout the night, and makes not one mistake.
A hesitance swept over her, and answers she had none,
When she came across a knotted bind which wouldn't come undone.

Two strings were tangled in a loop; two strings of golden thread,
Instead of break the tapestry, she carried on instead.
Weaving round the knotted bump, accepting your decision
That someone's far too special to create the cruel division.

The tapestry's still young and filled; her hands are frail and old,
But still she weaves on through the night, and lets your tale unfold.
Not even once has she believed the knot will soon subside,
She knows that you have someone you can always walk beside.

The woman making tapestries; weaving precious lives,
Is weaving all our memories - only yours and mine.
In my lifetimes tapestry, she found the same confusion,
And gracefully she came to a perfect, sound conclusion.

These girls, they have a friendship, they'll be tested through their lives,
And never will they loose the knot that keeps them both alive.
Ive never seen a friendship that's so perfectly complete,
Ive never seen a friendship that will never face defeat.

I know you to your deepest heart; I love you with my own,
There'll never be a time where you will have to be alone.
I swear to you that nothing life decides to let us see,
Will ever stop you meaning the world and more to me.
