Pusillanimous Shadows

by Teria   Jul 9, 2007

My salvation lies within your heart my feeble minded friend.
Deepening with each sugar rush, which with me you somehow spend.
You are safely discovering the wrong path with me, my dear.
Unable to find myself, dragging you along with each tear,
searching for the right to my own selfish ways, losing morals.
Realizing you are unselfishly fighting all my quarrels,
taking a stand seems way too hard for myself; a mere mortal.
The life we seem to live within each day dear's only pretend..
And, we continue to breathe the airfilled waste that fullfils fears,
as pusillanimous shadows deepen the soul, dear mortals.

    Hm.
    I really liked this.
    Not sure why, though. =/.

Something about it stuck out to me, but I just can't place what. And the last line I like, yet I think you have wrong punctuation, but I'm not sure.
Anyways, overall I really like it and my favorite are the first four lines. They were very strong and the rest seemed to drop a level, but never lost it all completely. Still well penned.
    Nicely done.

I really liked the first two lines. They were pretty much perfect. The end as well was nicely written. The mid section of the poem was still great. Just didn't flow as smoothly. I did love the vocab here in this poem. 5/5

The first line in this poem is absolutely amazing, it hooked me instantly and I just had to read the rest. The title is very unique and I think most who see it will want to explore more into it's depths. The last two lines ended the poem in a very strong way, excellent job with this piece 5/5 GG23

    This is frikken awesome!

The opening was beautiful and powerful, pulled me right into the piece and from there on it just kept getting better and better.
Flow is amazing throughout and the imagery you portrayed in this created very vivid pictures for me.

I thought this was very deep, it had a lot of emotion and depth to it, and I found the ending to be most beautiful and stunning at the same time.
