Above Consciousness

by Krazy   Jul 9, 2007

I'll never forget that night
where you held me so tight
as i became racked with terror

hot tears tumbling faster than a rock slide
breaths so short eye sight was no more
whole body shaking more then thunder

tomorrow so far away
time slowing past comprehension
when was it going to end

one whispered thought
I love you, I'm here, it's ok
repeated in hopes of peace

I was consumed by fear
choking on emotions and the unknown
nothing could pull me from this well

arms full of warmth, protection
wrapped tightly around me
not stopping until i was asleep

the black tide of panic never receded
I faded off beneath consciousness
bodies entwined, holding on for dear life

last feeling was devastation
to let him see me like this
disgrace, humiliation

arising to singing birds
warm sun against my skin
memories flooded in to drown me

hot tears tumbling faster then a rock slide
all was over
he was still there, holding me

a smile brushed her lips
her man had held fast
never letting her down for a second

relief washed over her
the storm had passed for now
she'll never forget that night
