Of Love and War*

by Anthony   Jul 9, 2007

Oh brave new world what new news dost thou have for us,
Let it be the sweet news of the soldier, our brother hast returned from the war.
Oh sweet are the poets lips who brings me this news,
Tell not the secrets you know.
Has the brother perhaps died from a slumber to long.

My child forgive me.
Your brother never left to war but instead he ran to find rest from his countless stress
But doesn't matter now, for he hast left in peace, for eternity.

Oh bitter sweet is the taste of war who knows not not of its pain! Sweet unknown messenger, tell me of your loss

Of my losses, I have none.

For you truly are the sweet child of truth who hast come un to me for his marriage, to claim his beautiful bride, She is in mourning

*Note:I thought that this one had a rather interesting story behind it so I thought that I would share it with you. I wrote this at work one night when one of the girls had to read a book called "Brave New World" I read the title and was inspired so I grabbed a paper towel and a pen and started writing. Also I believe that the old English language was inspired by "Romeo and Juliet" which we where reading in my English calls at the time.*

I'm not really a fan of the old English language. It's really just not my thing. However, I much enjoyed your poem. It definitely was interesting, with a unique style.

Wow, this was beautiful, you really know how to write in old fashioned ways. it was easy to read, yet that style of writing totally makes the piece. this was amazing, the flow, word choice, structure. wow. great job!
