A New Woman

by shyenne   Jul 10, 2007

A man met a woman one beautiful day,
Hoping their hearts were never to stray.
Her love for her was bountiful and pure,
Then her head got caught up in a chemical lure.
Her trust in him was starting to dim,
This chemical romance was too much for him.
Her hopes and dreams were fading away,
The drugs were the master she learned to obey.
An inner struggle she ensued all the time,
Could I overcome this demand for a love so divine.
Her inner most feelings started to cry out,
With a head so full of guilt, shame, and doubt.
It was that exact second God gave me his hand,
He started to mold me into this new woman.
With love, compassion, empathy, and trust,
The conning and manipulation all turned to dust.
I went back and searched for my angel divine,
God said from heaven this love would be mine.
He waited for me; he stood by his love,
An angel so pure; a little white dove.
For my true love I would give my life,
Longing for the day that he is my husband.
I will love you forever till death do us part,
my man in life, you have taken my heart.
