Sweet Dreams, Darling

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Jul 10, 2007

She holds her hopes up to the charcoal sky,
As she lays a quivering hand upon her chest,
And a sapphire tear leaks down from her eye -
Falling upon her pale arm to silently rest.

The bottle screams out her name as she crawls -
On all fours she wanders around aimlessly,
And she shatters her dreams within the walls,
Losing her mind inside the haggard debris.

Drunken words slur off the tip of her tongue,
As she holds onto her broken heart to sing -
About her tortured soul that is lost among -
The splintered spirits that the darkness brings.

And a mascara river streams down from her eye,
As she dances on the end of her puppet string,
Just a game to be played; lost within a hateful lie -
Based around the forgotten golden promise ring.

She's got a canteen of kerosene and a bottle of rye,
As she burns all of your pictures one by one,
And she smiles as she turns to bid you goodbye,
Saying: "Sweet dreams Darling; we are done."
