The Devil in a Black dress.

by Sad But True   Jul 10, 2007

Like the devil in a black dress, I met Lady Lisa Sky,
Her words so sweet and touch so soft, as we got high,
Line after line she guided me in all the ways of a hit,
I was full of hope but yet left alone under a cold sheet.

After each long night I woke alone with no money, not even a phone,
And yet my only thought where of her, and if she got safely home,
I wanted to comfort her; I wanted to make her feel safe,
But I was just a tool to help her reach her high heavenly place.

As the days went past and my depression kicked in,
She kept her distance and sad songs I had to sing,
She is in my dreams or is it the devil in a black dress,
Am I craving her or high silent moments without stress?

I loose myself in her seductive eyes, she smiles, and ask do you want a line?
My world starts to shatter, but yet my answer that is just fine.
I give you my all and stand by your side,
But surely as the sun will rise, you leave me alone, and go hide.

Lady Lisa Sky I wish you the best of fate,
But after you used me, you just left me with a heart full of hate.

The emotional depth was potent here. The subject matter was darkly realistic for someone experiencing addiction.

My only critisicm: it would make it more clear what feelings you were trying to convey if you proofread this. There are a few errors that give the reader pause trying to sort it out.

I loved the ending you used here..very intense.
I liked the opening, it dragged me right into the piece and from there on it just got better...beautiful work.
