Family motto

by fvalconbridge   Jul 10, 2007

La Famille Puis Le Devoir, L'Honneur Toujours.

Its French.
My family used to believe this,
And we were raised around it.

Now the family I live with are different people,
You misunderstand me,
They have the same names and faces,
But they are not my family,

A unspoken war rages in this house,
That I used to call a home.
A war, a fight for what is right,
And its everyone against me.

Personal privacy,
Boundaries,
Safety,
Secrets and comfortably.
Do they truly mean nothing?

Not to them,
My family,
How can they do this?
Keep me in danger?
Its not fair.
And I wont back down.

Even if Im the only one to believe it,
I will stand for it,
And against them.
In my battle for safely.

Family first, duty second, honour always.

This piece is so sad... I can relate to it, I know exactly what you've been going through.
    Whole poem is excellently written.
5/5, keep up, you're so talented.
