A Lesson Learned, Not Wasted.

by SmileeItsBritt   Jul 10, 2007

You chose to run away from it,
You thought it was easier to leave
You ignored what lay before your eyes
Because it was easier to pretend you didn't see.
You were always looking for an ending
But your explanations fell short of honesty,
With a show of hands and hearts on the floor
Who needs a reason to believe?

Your words like towers, collapse
And you realize what you did was wrong.
You can't erase the mistakes you made
But you can accept it and move on.

This was always about learning,
About taking a chance on letting go,
Change doesn't always have to be a bad thing.
Your heart doesn't have to sink that low.
So next time you feel the breaking,
Hold your head up high and face it.
Because this was never meant to break you,
It was a lesson learned, not wasted.

Your poetry is short.. Shorter than my own.
But I like it that way, and I envy you for that ability.
Down to business, another one with nice form. It isnt choppy, it's smooth and it unfolds a story. And I love the story it unfolds. But I can only guess what it really means, aye? ;] You have so much talent.
I've favourited you, due to that.
I've read all of your work and.. Please do keep it up. I'd love to see more.
