Winter Melody

by Hannah Emellia   Jul 10, 2007

In the silence; crystal rains,
Like spirits come to plunder,
White, cold ashes from the sky,
All warmth soon cast asunder,

Spreading like a plague,
All shines in icy gleam,
To take your cloak of summer,
And tear it at the seam,

Lay upon the frozen ground,
The snow that welcomes all,
Listen for the music,
Of it's ever mournful call,

Rest your eyes a moment,
Let the music take it's toll,
Let it bend the steel in your heart,
And reap the fire from your soul.

Imagery is incredible, this poem has amazing and powerful rhythm. I really like it, I don't like last stanza but rest of this piece is excellent. First stanza is my favorite. 5/5
