Krista's Poem

by Steve Powers   Jul 10, 2007

He cheated, you lay down defeated.
Deceived, you were; though deep down you knew it had to end.
And broken hearts, tomorrow's sunshine will mend.
Lessons learned, time will heal all,
these cliche's from others you will recall.
Meaningless lyrics layered on like hole filled socks.
All lies? Answers unlock Pandora's box.
So let the grief flow through,
feel love from friends soak into you.
He took pieces but look at what beats on:
still what you were then, but now better off without his con.
Love's footprints left out in the winter's snow.
Spring will come, where footprints were, flowers bud to grow.
Take some time and heal, love yourself.
And although you may feel broke,
let your friends and family fill your heart with wealth.
