Poverty

by Qpid   Jul 10, 2007

Scorching heat, endless drought,
hunger and thirst is what poverty is all about.

Surviving on food and water filled with contamination.
How can this be accepted in our wealthy nation??

Living under thatched roofs and mud walls,
nothing like the extravagant homes and shopping malls.

All aswel as children, forced to work under the increasing heat.
Given little reward of hardly anything to eat.

Affected by numerous diseases with no one to nurse.
This life they live is like an undying curse.

They can't afford clothing nor education.
Poverty is written all over it.
Yet the people are filled with grit.

In life we must remember those less fortunate than us
For it is them who suffer in circumstances far worse.
