Blissful Beach; Summer Time

by Kirsty palmer   Jul 10, 2007

The golden sand appears before my eyes
And the sun shines above
Glistening on the sand particles
Brighter than a pure white dove

The sea gently hits the shore
As the water is soon soaked into the sand
The noise is so soothing
As the beach starts to expand

The children are building castles
The mums are soaking up the sun
Dad's are off buying ice cream
Yes, the summer has begun

Rubber rings in the sea
Floating gently with the waves
Mum and dad sit there and smile
Promising to get it if the child behaves

Hearing the laughter of the families
As they forget to argue and fight
All content with each other
Singly soaking in the delight

Picnics in the sand;
That really no one really eats
Too busy having fun
And filling up on icy treats

Collecting sea shells together,
A contest to see who gets the most
Then a race running in the sand
To see who is first past the post

The beach is so delicate
Yet it's a delightful place for ever one
It has the most beautiful sights
Yes, the summer time has begun

Wow beautiful lines. I can totally create a picture in my mind. Very connotative poem with great flow and lexical power. Tc

    With love
