Slipped Away

Crawling in the dark,
Looking for the light,
Trying to find a place to hide,
Crying out for help,
Wanting to let it all go,
Slipping off the edge.
Keeping my screams inside,
Making the pain reside,
Fighting for a chance,
To forget this all,
To be without guilt,
Without the memories,
But my fighting doesn't work.
I close my eyes,
And see your face.
I cry inside,
And keep crawling for life.
My hands are sweating,
My knees are aching,
I can't keep looking for light.
I can't hold this inside,
Any longer.
I've slipped away.
