After Death A New Life (Double Etheree)

by Cindy   Jul 11, 2007

One
alone.
Solitude,
silence abounds.
Gone bird's melodies,
no winds blowing through trees.
Breathing no longer matters.
Darkness surrounds an empty life.
Icy chills slowly turn body cold,
blankness consumes me in eternal sleep.

Little eyes squint, intrusion brilliant light
wanting to return to the dark womb.
Poked, prodded, tagged and marked loud cries,
swaddled blankets bound tightly.
Feeling cold and alone
placed in mother's arms.
Snuggles in warmth
life begins.
Content
safe.
