Forbidden Hopes

Its the heart that once was broken
now its nowhere to be seen
and the girl hung from her bedroom fan
who used to be a queen

the solid pain thats in their hearts
it wont ever go away
the chains are too tight, the walls too small
they have no other way

tears are falling and make-ups bleeding
dear god will it ever end
the masks are becoming real, forever attached
its much too easy to pretend

all my words will never cower
they will never shy
my knees will never stand up straight
they continue to ask why

i don't believe, why i care
why keep going on
when everything i know and love
had long since been far gone

too speechless to understand
i just sit amazed

i grab on tighter to my chains
