My Lily...

by Hannah Emellia   Jul 11, 2007

Beautiful blonde hair she had,
When she smiled, she still looked sad.
She wore a white dress, lacy and frilly,
When she was energetic, she was my lily.

She had her days, when she'd throw fits,
She'd yell alot and cry a bit.
But during these times, I'd have her to hold,
Then she became my marigold.

Towards the end, things got worse,
She'd smoke and drink, and sometimes curse.
She was only nice in private,
My girl became my violet.

All good things they have to end,
She walked out of my life, and I can't pretend.
She left my heart broken, and torn.
She was my rose, and she had her thorns...

Twenty years later, when I found this I cried,
My lovely flower, had wilted and died.
Looking down, into her casket, her white dress is frilly...
Tears filled my eyes, she still was my lily.

Beautifully written, but the rhymes are typical. I like the repetition of the title in the end.

GREAT! I rarely say that about a poem hehe...5/5 I love it

    To me her heart flowers
    Then came withering hours
    The light, darkness devours
    Then still, lies my flowers

I love this one. It is so sad and it is just perfect. I dont know how but it just sparks something in me and it is just so sad. This is a poem, in my opinion, if I ever saw one. One worthy of an EXELLENT!
