An Act

You wish me to be happy, joyous and smile
So I put on my act, felling sad all the while.

My outer shell is one of happiness and glee,
but you don't know what is truley inside of me.

You think I'm okay and my life is fine,
It's a great act and I pull it off every time.

I wish I could share what's inside of my mind,
But you wouldn't want to see the horrors you would find.

So i'll keep everything locked up safe in my head,
These memories and thoughts will stay with me long after I am dead.
