It took one voice to be heard In a time of pain It took one man to change history To let the sun shine through the rain It took one person to challenge the law To set us, black people free It took one person to make peaceful protests So we could all be free It took one person to put their foot down To show them, that we're just the same It took one person to start a boycott Not play a little game It took one person to show the world That we have many talents as well It took one person to show the world That we have many stories to tell And that one person who set us free Had given us the chance to say So many words and so many praises Because we're proud to be black everyday Who is this person that set use free? Is the question that you may ask One person who praised our God on high And completed his given task This very person from the lord Has given us a chance to sing His peaceful protests, his guidance and love Our Hero, Martin Luther King.
