Lost And Lonely

In a world where no one ever listens
And no one ever cares
Where all lights are broken
And no one actually shares
Arguments are frequent
Often occur more than once a day
Shouting and screaming at one another
Then leaving in dismay

Tears are shed and anger sinks in
The walls open up and swallow silence
The little girl who just witnessed this
Sits there preying that there's no violence
Floor boards are banged
And items go flying to the floor
Glasses are smashed
The little girl screams for it to stop
At the end of her tether- she can not take no more

Just like she said 'no one ever listens'
They continue to scream and shout
Voices are raised
And more anger is let out
Cowering in the corner feeling alone and scared
Waiting for it to come to an end
Watching in horror at her parents
Thinking of things she cannot apprehend

After a slap from each other it all calms down
Everyone pretends that nothing went on
As the girl still hides away
As pain for her is foregone
Scared to move she remains there
Not wanting to set off the anger once more
No one notices she is missing
Her they can't help but ignore
