Sensing Love

by Alexandra Jade Brewer   Jul 12, 2007

Your lingering presence
hangs heavy in the air
I cant escape this pain
that causes my heart to tear

The sound of your voice
as you'd say my name
was that of a deep love
and not a name to claim

Staring in your eyes
I saw compassion there
they spoke of true beauty
and how much you'd always care

The scent that lingered off of you
as you'd hold me tight
Always calmed my nerves
In the dark of night

The feeling that you caused
as you'd tickle me
always brought laughter
and a connection everyone could see

Sure I'm not making this up
everyone new the love was ours
it came alive in my dreams
but reality gave me no powers

So all I have are memories
They're what I have to tame
I must forget your existence
Before I go insane
