What's the use?

What use is life
If living is forbidden?
I am alive
And yet I cannot live.

I cannot live
In a world of rules
Designed for my safety
But restricting my freedom.

Surely death is better
Than this half life
Not allowed to live
And dying is forbidden.

I tried to die
But I’m still here
So let me live
It’s all I ask.
