Disconsolate

by AloneInaCrowd   Jul 12, 2007

I could count the steps I take
To visit you each day
And how the landscape changes
As I walk along my way

When fall turned into winter
My heartache seemed to grow
I didn't like to think that you
Were laid beneath the snow

Spring was late in coming
And the birds sang out of tune
Oh how I truly longed that you
Could see your flowers bloom

While summer floated into view
My teardrops fell as rain
Your name I traced with trembling hand
Your headstone now was lain

Autumn is not far away
The gyre begins anew
I know I'll feel disconsolate
Til I'm in heav'n with you

I long to hear your precious voice
And talk with you again
I miss your smile, your tender hugs
My mom, my dearest friend.
