Now I Can Move On

by *Charisma*   Jul 13, 2007

I learned a lesson hard to swallow
Found a path some don't follow
It happened when I thought of you
And realized I should be through.

The tears must end, and wells go dry.
I've had plenty of time to cry.
Nights spent sleepless with such pain
Must never come to haunt again.

I've come to accept that we won't be
So I'll stop picturing you with me.
It's fantasies that clutter my mind
And without them, I'll be fine.

I don't need you to find my place
I'm me, and me is all it takes.
I did love you, now that that's said
I'm leaving you to move ahead.

Ok I always love girl power poems so kudos for that, but in some ways I feel the poem was a little bland. I guess it's just been done before. But I will say that I love the line - I'm me and me is all it takes. That was REALLY good. Still a great poet girl! :)
