Love For All Seasons

by OHgreenman   Jul 13, 2007

Mother Earth bears seasons of four
Cycles required for her to restore
Alive in spring; winter's demise
Always rejuvenating under disguise

White blankets melt, perfumed flowers bloom
All created from Mother's encrusted womb
Blue skies empty, rain drops sing
Time of growth, renewal; spring

Summer crops hit their peak
Land flexing beautiful physique
Soybeans, peanuts, cotton and maize
All withstand suns' fiery rays

Autumn brings vibrant colors to trees
Foliage falling in the cool breeze
Seasoned farmers begin their reap
Nature's splendor prepares to sleep

Forests, meadows, fields all bare
Winter's crystal snowflakes, everywhere
Environment now in hibernation
Patiently awaiting reincarnation

I have a love for all seasons
There's just to many reasons
Without cycles of Mother Earth
What would man-kind be worth?

Thank you first off for your comment. And your nature poems are a great read. You add in all the details of nature, of every season, of the life in the seasons, it is done well.
