A child

by AwakeInDreamin   Jul 13, 2007

A child fragile yet strong,
not knowing right from wrong,
fearing the day of being alone,
wanting to be full grown.

playing in the park,
going to bed before dark,
are the ways of a child,
restless and wild.

playing on the sports teams,
and walking on balance beams,
spending the day running free,
and sleeping under the old oak tree.

growing and learning all day long,
and still happy as a song,
they live in a stress free place,
and everywhere is a friendly face.

to young to know the difficulties they'll face,
but wanting to solve every case,
they'll go on growing and learning,
and then they will fight through the fire's burn.

a child fragile yet strong,
not knowing right from wrong,
fearing the day of being alone,
wanting to be full grown.
