My Tears

by Serena   Jul 13, 2007

My tears are my lullaby.
They put me to sleep,
Nothing else can,
Except their soft beat.

When I like someone,
They always have girlfriends,
My tears flow softly,
Down my reddening face,
Which occurs quite often.
Down, down, faster, and faster
They run, and I hear the
Splashing of my tears
Against the tile floor.

So often my tears
Race from my reddened eyes,
With mocking smiles
Staring back at me.

Once, my tears were
Swept away with
A hand of an unknown
Figure, a figure with a
Gentle touch, a man perhaps?

They scream in agony as
Their falling ceases with three
Gentle words, spoken by the
Hands owner, “I love you.”
My eyes brighten,
My spirits soar as the
Man brushes a gentle kiss
Upon my trembling lips.
