In another's shoes

by Beauty In The Breaking   Jul 13, 2007

Life speeds by so very fast,
full of ups and downs and lessons hard learned,
time holds still for no one
even though we wish it would
so treasure every moment.

No, life isn't very kind
but it's the rough times that make us strong,
it's the times that teach us how to cry
that are the one's that teach us the most
so hold on to hope and don't give up.

Remember the love, not the breakups,
remember the laughter, not the moans,
remember the tears of joy instead of sorrow,
remember the joy instead of the pain
and the happiness instead of the sadness.

No matter what you do or how kind you are
people will judge you and hurt you
but don't let this stop you from trying,
this world will never become a beautiful place
if we only try to harm.

Put yourself in the other persons shoes
and try to understand them then,
the ones that seem happy and confident
may be the ones that need the most help
and that are barely holding on.

Try to accept everyone for who they are
without ever trying to change them
because if that's how you wish to be treated
then you must first treat others that way,
what we do to others is what comes back to us.

Remember that everyone has their own wars their fighting
and have pains that you'll never know,
and most times the ones that everyone looks to for
strength
are the loneliest and in the most pain.

Remember everyone has feelings and a soul
and with one word you could bring someone down
and tear their world apart
and you never know...the thing you criticize
could be the only thing they have left
and the last thing that's giving them hope.

Very good, I find the aspect of looking from another's point of view is one of the greatest things that someone can do to understand that other person.
