One Wing In The Fire

by Twisted Heart   Jul 13, 2007

On the edge of a flame she dangles at will
Her ashen throne now empty and still

Among all the embers of passions flight
She weeps in the shadows that blanket the night

Her hunger long sated by flames of desire
One wing in heaven the other in fire

The melody silent on the ledge of the flame
All hope is dashed by the victims it claims.

A single tear falls from the eyes of the host
The angel sits quiet, her memory, a ghost

Upon the still wings, the singe of her down
Lends a stench to the air, no cure can be found.

Now facing the sun, as it starts to rise
Her wings turn from ash, as they take to flight

No sign of the angel, that rose from his bed
Now a woman controlled stands there instead

    Jeannie,
All I can say is wow, or actually it should be WOW! As I have said many times before my interpretations are probably off key. But, the picture I drew from this was one of a woman fighting her way between right and wrong. She is destined to commit suicide and is confused as to which way to turn. The idea that suicide in the biblical sense is a sin and the struggle between the devil on the left and the angel on the right gives way to the sin itself. If this is not what you had in mind when you wrote this then I am sorry I perceived it incorrectly. I absolutely loved this philisophical thought and admire all of your work as you truly know how to make one think.
